colorful pumpkins.  Be sure to do your "pumpkin research" and learn about the different varieties
before you come out to the farm.  

Mystic
The perfect small-size pumpkin, 6 – 8 lbs. and 7” to 9” tall and wide. It has a slightly flattened
round shape with very distinct ribbing, a deep orange color, and a strong handle.

Magic Lantern
A beautiful dark reddish orange pumpkin, 17 to 20 lbs., and 11” to 12” diameter. Incredible stem
and appearance. A long-time favorite of the most discerning pumpkin picker..

Howden
The Howden sets the standard for a beautiful big pumpkin. Average size 20 to 25 lbs., and 14” to
16” diameter. Deep round pumpkin, quite symmetrical, very solid with extra thick flesh. Skin is
hard, deep ridges, and a wonderful rich color. It keeps in prime condition for a long time.

Howden Biggie
True to its name, certainly a “biggie”, with an average weight from 35 to 50 lbs. A true pumpkin
shape, sits upright with shapes ranging from globe to tall globe with variable ridging. Deep
orange fruit, a thick flesh. Stem is dark and strong.

Prizewinner
The largest pumpkin of all, replacing the “Big Max” pumpkin because of its consistently excellent
shape. True pumpkin color, bright reddish-orange, very popular for display and contrast.

Little October
A true miniature pumpkin, 3” by 3”, round, weighing about 8 oz. The perfect looking miniature
orange pumpkin. Great as part of any Fall decorations. It is also edible.

Baby Bear
This little pumpkin averages 1 to 2 lbs. and 4” to 6” wide and 3” to 4” tall, the perfect size for
small children’s hands. Bright orange skin, good stems that look like handles. Ideal for painting,
carving, and pies.

Munchkin
A Jack-B-Little variety, 3” wide by 2” high, ribbed, with a very hard shell. Sunset Magazine has
had recipes highlighting the Munchkin.

Jarrahdale or “Blue” Pumpkin
A medium to large drum shaped fruit with heavy rounded ribs and striking blue to slate gray skin
color. Sweet, thick orange flesh of exceptional quality, great for pumpkin breads and for baking a
fresh pumpkin pie from scratch.

Lumina or “White” Pumpkin
A gleaming white, smooth skin pumpkin with an average size about 10 to 15 lbs. Flesh is thick
and firm, with a bright orange color. A pumpkin with a globe to a flattened globe shape. Excellent
for painting and carving, but also incredibly good for baking fresh pumpkin pies from scratch.


Cinderella
These pumpkins are a unique heirloom from France. About 6” high and a 15” diameter, these
pumpkins are flattened and actually concave on top. Skin is a burnt orange. Cinderella would
have been proud to have her carriage turn into one of these. A great pumpkin for cooking and
pies.

Fairy Tale
Cinderella shaped, but a larger, decorative pumpkin with a stunning green/gold skin which
gradually turns to 100% gold at maturity.
